Thursday Daytime Healthier Health Walks: These are every 2 weeks. They are slightly longer and go a little further in distance than the Wednesday health walks, taking us 5-6 miles and approximately 3 hours to complete. They take place in various areas in and around Sheffield, but quite often meet up first at Chapeltown library, before car sharing to the start point.

Thursday Evening Walks: These are every 2 weeks in the summer months but due to the dark evenings as soon as the clocks go back we end them until the following spring. They are between 1.5 to 2 hours. We start at 7:00pm and usually end with a drink in the pub afterwards. On dark evenings we advise you bring a torch. If you don't have one we can usually lend you one, but please let us know beforehand.

Saturday Walks: These are every 2 weeks and last between 3 to 4 hours usually meeting around 10:45 to start at 11:00am.

Sunday Walks: These are every week and last between 3.5 to 5 hours usually meeting around 10:30 to start at 10:45am.

Health Walks

We meet every Wednesday morning outside Chapeltown Library at 9.45am. Our health walks are an ideal introduction to walking for those who haven't been walking before, are bored at home with nothing to do, or perhaps recovering from an illness or operation.

The walks last about 60 - 80 minutes, are are about 3 miles in length, the terrain is always easy going. We have numerous routes all starting from the library which allow us explore different parts of Chapeltown, and occasionally we'll car share from the library and venture a little further afield.

These walks are a great way to start to get fit, to get out and about, and to meet new people in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. All we do ask is that you let us know your coming, all you have to do is turn up, fill in a simple health form questionnaire and off we go. We always end the walk with an optional coffee and chat at the cafe near the library.

After a while you may feel that your able to walk a little further, and may want to try our Thursday daytime or evening walks or our Saturday walks. If not, then you are of course welcome to stay with the health walks, the choice and speed of progression is yours.
